Milestones At Brabazon In 2021

Spring

January marked the official launch of Brabazon when we opened our Sales Centre and Show Home at The Hangar District.

With the pandemic leading many people to look for more space and more sustainable living, the new homes in North Bristol instantly proved popular, with more than a dozen reservations in the first few weeks.

Summer

Following the successful launch of the new houses at The Hangar District, in May the first collection of contemporary one and two-bedroom apartments at The Navigator Building went on sale. This landmark building is currently more than 60% sold well ahead of completion, with owners due to move in during Spring 2022.

May also saw the very first residents move into their new homes at Brabazon, sowing the seeds of this vibrant new community.

Autumn

In Autumn we celebrated the start of our new community at Brabazon by hosting our first residents’ event, with drinks and nibbles on the terrace of the Sales Centre at Brabazon.

Demand continued to race ahead, with many more new houses reserved. In addition, from September we were able to offer Help to Buy on our apartments in The Navigator Building.

But as well as making progress on-site at The Hangar District, the team were also making progress off-site in delivering the vision for this thriving new neighbourhood.

In Autumn 2021, YTL Developments submitted the detailed planning application for the Primary Road Network at Brabazon, including wide pedestrian boulevards, over 3Km of segregated cycle routes, and separate bus lanes, with three MetroBus stops. Network Rail also submitted their detailed application for the new train station at Brabazon. Subject to planning approval, the road network and rail service should both be in place before the end of 2023.

Winter

As the days began to grow shorter, we reached an online milestone, with over 1,000 followers on Instagram and 400 on Facebook. Click here to follow us on Instagram and Facebook, if you don’t already!

Winter is also awards season. And in our first year at Brabazon, YTL Developments was delighted to take home the coveted ‘Developer of the Year’ prize at the prestigious Bristol Property Awards.

We were also winners in both the ‘Place-making’ and ‘Sustainability’ categories at the South West Insider Residential Property Awards, while we were shortlisted for ‘Newcomer of the Year’ and ‘Small Residential Development of the Year’ at the national RESI Awards.

Away from the limelight, we completed two further streets, with Fedden Street, Fairlawn Avenue and Atkinson Grove now fully occupied. We also submitted our latest planning application, with detailed consent now being sought for Brabazon Park.

Subject to planning approval, Brabazon Park will be the largest new urban public park in the South West for 50 years. At 15 acres - equivalent in size to Castle Park – it will feature a three-acre lake surrounded by walking routes, water gardens, exercise areas and children’s playgrounds and criss-crossed by wildlife corridors planted with native species.

Coming soon in 2022

So what’s coming over the horizon at Brabazon in 2022?

In Spring we not only expect to complete the first apartments at The Navigator Building, but also to have new homes for sale, including some of our most popular houses like The Prier, The Boxkite and The Pullman.

Then in Summer next year we expect to release the first apartments in the next landmark building for North Bristol: The Dials. This collection of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments is expected to complete in 2024.
