Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how we and our trusted third-party service providers use cookies and similar technologies on our website.

It describes what cookies are, the types of cookies we use, and how you can manage your preferences at any time.

Some features on our website use embedded third-party tools or content, which may set their own cookies in accordance with their policies.

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. Websites use cookies to help users navigate efficiently and perform certain functions.

Cookies that are required for the website to operate properly are allowed to be set without your permission. All other (non-essential) cookies will only be set where you have given your consent.

You can change your consent to cookie usage at any time by clicking on “Cookie Settings” in the bottom corner of the website.

We also use cookies (where consent has been provided) to collect data for the purpose of personalising and measuring the effectiveness of our advertising. For more details, visit the Google Privacy Policy.

The following cookies are used on our website:

Strictly Necessary

Strictly necessary cookies allow core website functionality such as page navigation, security and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.

Performance

Performance cookies (including analytics services such as Google Analytics) are used to understand how visitors interact with our website, such as which pages are visited most often and how users move around the site. These cookies help us improve the performance and usability of our website.

Performance cookies do not directly identify individual users and are only set where you have provided consent.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a performance analytics service used to analyse how visitors use our website. Google Analytics cookies are only set where you have provided consent via our cookie settings.

To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also manage your analytics cookie preferences at any time via our ‘Cookie Settings’.

Targeting

Targeting cookies are used to identify visitors between different websites, for example content partners or advertising networks. These cookies may be used to build a profile of visitor interests or display relevant advertisements on other websites and are only set with your consent.

Functionality

Functionality cookies are used to remember information you have entered or choices you have made (such as language or region) to provide enhanced, more personalised features. These cookies are only set where consent is provided.

Unclassified

Unclassified cookies are cookies that we are in the process of classifying, together with the providers of individual cookies.

Third-Party Services & Embedded Content

Property Price Advice (Embedded Tools)

We use embedded mortgage budget calculators and property valuation tools provided by Property Price Advice (‘PPA’). These tools are embedded on our website via secure iframes.

When a PPA tool is loaded, a strictly necessary security cookie may be set by PPA to protect form submissions and ensure the safe and secure operation of the tool. This cookie does not track users, enable profiling, or support advertising or marketing activity and does not require consent.

No analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies are set by PPA unless and until you provide explicit consent, where applicable. If consent is not provided, non-essential cookies are not loaded at any point.

Property Price Advice acts as the data controller in respect of cookies and any personal data processed within these embedded tools. Please refer to Property Price Advice’s own privacy and cookie information for further details about how your data is used.

YouTube

We embed videos from our official YouTube channel using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. This mode may set cookies on your computer once you click on the video player, but YouTube will not store personally-identifiable cookie information.

HotJar

We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback.

Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behaviour and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. For further details, please see Hotjar’s privacy policy by clicking on this link.

You can opt-out to the creation of a user profile, Hotjar’s storing of data about your usage of our site and Hotjar’s use of tracking cookies on other websites by following this opt-out link.
