27 July 2020

Construction is well underway on the first phase of new homes at Brabazon, transforming an iconic local landmark into a thriving new neighbourhood for Bristol.

The range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom homes are scheduled to go on sale before the end of 2020, with the first new residents moving in in early 2021.

YTL Developments can now announce that Savills Bristol has been instructed to act as the sales agent for the first phase at Brabazon.

Like the pioneering planes that came before it, Brabazon is a new community that is designed to be different.

Created by internationally renowned, locally-based architects Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios and built of solid red-brick, the houses will be proper homes: spacious, warm and welcoming. The properties are set among tree-lined streets across a South-facing hillside, and spill out onto the open space of the new Brabazon Park.

Brabazon will offer smarter living, energy-efficient homes and a commitment to quality design and craftsmanship in every property. It will also be connected to Bristol and beyond by a dedicated MetroBus, a network of walking routes and cycle paths, as well as a new rail station that will link to Bristol Temple Meads in less than 15 minutes.

Vicky Dudbridge, Head of Residential Development Sales for Savills Bristol, said: “We are delighted to work with YTL Developments on the introduction of Brabazon, which is set to be a thriving and sustainable community for Bristol and the most exciting new city district in the South West.”

As well as new homes, creative workspaces, schools, health facilities, parks and public squares, Brabazon is also set to become a hub for entertainment following the grant of planning permission to build YTL Arena Bristol earlier this year. This new 17,000 capacity venue will be a new home for world-class music, sport and family entertainment, and will complement the range of independent stores, cafés, bars and restaurants that are already planned at Brabazon.

Vicky added: “Brabazon will become a pioneering new place where people from all walks of life can live, work, relax and spend time together.”

Jon McDiarmid, Director at YTL Developments, said: “Inspired by the Bristol Brabazon - an icon of engineering - we’re designing a new city district where the pioneers of the future can live, and enjoy the best that life has to offer. We can’t wait to welcome the first new residents to Brabazon in early 2021.”
