How New Destinations Are Shaping a Thriving Town at Brabazon

We are entering an exciting new chapter at Brabazon. With planning now submitted for a new wave of places to enjoy, the neighbourhood is evolving into a place full of energy, creativity and character.

From padel courts and street food to immersive events and wellness facilities, these new venues are the next steps in creating a town that feels truly alive and connected.

Why Bring Leisure, Retail and Social Spaces to Brabazon Now?

Because Brabazon is already home to hundreds of people – and it’s growing fast. We want the neighbourhood to feel alive as it grows. That means creating places people can experience right now, while the town continues to take shape.

These new destinations to explore will help build a sense of belonging and give people a reason to visit, live and stay at Brabazon.

You’ve Just Submitted Another Planning Application for Brabazon. What’s it All About?

It’s all about food, flavour and community. This application brings forward fabulous food and drink to sit alongside the sports and leisure facilities already planned. Think street food kitchens, independent eateries and places for Bristol’s creative energy to shine.

Together with our new community hub at Spitfire Hangar – opening early next year – and other attractions, it’s about making Brabazon feel welcoming and full of life.

What Kind of Experiences Can People Expect to See First?

We’re launching a mini town centre with a mix of sport, wellness, entertainment and food and drink. It’s designed to be magnetic and meaningful, drawing people from across the region while giving locals something to be proud of.

Expect padel courts – one of the fastest-growing sports globally – plus interactive games and community hangouts for all ages. We’re also introducing sauna and ice baths, tapping into a growing focus on wellbeing that fits perfectly with our active lifestyle ethos.

Tell Us More About the Food and Drink Offer – What Makes it Special?

It’s all about celebrating Bristol’s independent spirit.

Working with our hospitality partner, we’re serving up unforgettable food moments. Think a vibrant street-food space alive with rotating guest spots, bold flavours and hands-on mentoring to champion the next generation of food entrepreneurs. It’s also a stage for regional talent, with South West chefs bringing theatre and taste-bud-tingling dishes that celebrate the region at its best.

But it’s not just about great food. We’ll host cookery schools, youth mentoring, inclusive workshops and cultural events. It’s a hub for creativity, learning and connection.

How Are You Supporting Local Businesses and Entrepreneurs?

Local businesses are the heartbeat of Brabazon. We’re giving them space to shine – from Boxworks, which supports start-ups and small businesses, to our food and culture offer. It’s about nurturing talent and helping independents grow alongside the town.

Will There be Spaces for Families and Children Too?

Definitely. Padel is family-friendly, and our social games, like shuffleboard and interactive golf pods, are designed for all ages. This new area at Brabazon will host immersive events and exciting takeovers that appeal to a broad audience.

How Do These Early Destinations Reflect the Long-term Vision for Brabazon?

They’re a snapshot of what’s to come – welcoming, innovative and inclusive. We’re building culture and community early, so Brabazon feels like a place people can call home as it grows.

What Kind of Feedback Have You Had so Far?

The response has been incredibly positive. Many locals have a personal connection to the airfield’s history, and there’s real excitement about what’s coming next. People are eager to see the future take shape and we’re really proud to be delivering it.

How Do You See These Spaces Evolving Over Time?

They’re incubators for long-term partners. Many of the businesses we’re working with now will grow with Brabazon and become part of its fabric.

What Excites You Most About the Next Year at Brabazon?

Everything! This is a pivotal moment. I can’t wait for people to experience the energy, creativity and community we’re building – and to get a glimpse of the incredible journey ahead.
